Let's see, well I have been consumed by school this semester, but just one week left! I am still working as an autism and behavior interventionist, but really need to find a second job. Life keeps throwing curve balls, and I can't keep up anymore! These two things keep me crazy busy, so not much else to report on! I decided it was time to post some pictures, since I don't think I have ever! ENJOY!

Taken at the Culver City Studios just after the Bonnie Hunt Show!

Out for my birthday with David!Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-68881777227092001242009-03-31T14:49:00.002-07:002009-03-31T14:52:01.275-07:00Proud of Angie Harmon!<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJENH2DksfzNqmM0K7Cjqw6Q7nxtbYPpHx3LOt1MR32gbojV5QhjTIeyjjrCGQYdqq94DgCpMFMvPijRo7_Sv9lP7-HGCxiV06sqKFSXFXACxl9QbVN0YSa5hyphenhyphenv50IISKpBduGsk0CNLGm/s320/0_63_Harmon_Angie.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319472924789334354" />
Angie Harmon: I'm Not Racist Because I Disagree With Obama

Angie Harmon is not afraid to come out and say she doesn’t like how President Obama is handling the job — but she’s sick of having to defend herself from being deemed a racist.

"Here's my problem with this, I'm just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it's not because I'm a racist, it's because I don't like what he's doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you're called a racist," Harmon told Tarts at Thursday’s Los Angeles launch of the new eyelash-growing formula, Latisse. "But it has nothing to do with it, I don’t care what color he is. I’m just not crazy about what he's doing and I heard all about this, and he’s gonna do that and change and change, so okay … I'm still dressing for a recession over here buddy and we've got unemployment at an all-time high and that was his number one thing and that's the thing I really don't appreciate. If I'm going to disagree with my President, that doesn't make me a racist. If I was to disagree with W, that doesn't make me racist. It has nothing to do with it, it is ridiculous."

Speaking of dislikes, the starlet has also had enough of the double-standards in the media.

"I do think McCain would have done a better job, only because I think he has more experience. I also think if W or John McCain or Reagan would have gone and done a talk show, the backlash would have been so huge and in his face, and ‘What is our president doing? How unclassy!’ But Obama does it and no one says anything," Harmon said.

And in spite of the scornful opinions most of her Tinseltown counterparts have shared on Gov. Sarah Palin, Harmon remains a true fan.

"I admire any kind of woman like her. My whole motto is to know what I stand for and know what I don't stand for and have the courage to live my life accordingly and she does exactly that. The fact that this woman has made the decisions she's made and literally lived her life according to that and takes heat for it is absolutely disgusting to me," she added. "People cannot look at this woman. I really think they're afraid of her and her morals, ethics and values and the fact that she hangs on them. Is she the most experienced person in the world? But she was running to be the Vice President, so we then put the most inexperienced person as the President. That didn't make any sense to me."

However Harmon is definitely in the Hollywood minority when it comes to her criticism of Obama as other lasses at the Latisse party were quick to advocate their unequivocal support.Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-1014922811991254122009-03-27T01:04:00.000-07:002009-03-27T01:24:11.210-07:00The Last TimeSo much has been going on these days, and I am almost at a breaking point. When am I going to catch a break? I can't take it anymore! I try and do everything right, what's wrong with me? When am I going to get my happy ending? I look around, and everyone has theirs, why not me? And I cannot take much more of this. My heart is hanging by a thread. I’m tired of listening to my head so Please…
Make this the last time. I face the world alone again, Oh how I miss my closest friends. But soon we’ll see the evidence, He promises a happy end.
So even though my heart feels out of my control
I know that I can say it is well my soul
So take me through this shadowland
I pray that you will hold my hand
And teach me to be who I am in you

Where am I
Why is it so dark down here
Do you know me
Doesn’t anybody recognize my face
Or can I be replaced
Can I be replaced
Do you need me
What if I just up and left
Would you miss me
I am so alone
Doesn’t anyone understand me
I long to be home in my Father’s arms
Because he knows me
All I want is a little bit of company
All I have is a paper bag
Full of pieces that don’t fit together
Did they ever
I am so alone
Doesn’t anyone understand me
I long to be home
In my Father’s arms
Because he knows me
But I am so thankful for this time
You so graciously remind me
This is not my home
This is not my homeMiss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-3787054031944952042009-03-05T19:48:00.000-08:002009-03-05T19:51:58.113-08:00Ok Here Goes!I’m doing it!
I have been inspired to try something by my cousin Mary. So here goes….
This is open to anyone who reads my blog!
The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by yours truly!!
I get to chose what it is, and make it just for YOU!!
However, this offer does have some restrictions and limitations
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! (although I'm hoping you do!)
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It will be done this year. (before December 31, 2009!)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. I have not been feeling very creative so I need someone to do this to get my creative juices flowing!

There is one little catch. You must re-post this on YOUR blog, facebook, or whatever you use to contact the masses and make the same offer to the first 5 people who respond on your blog entry, thereby continuing the fun! (Keep it local if you would like, however you want to do it is fine.)
The first 5 people to leave a comment telling me they will be posting this on their blog will win a special something made by me!
Be sure to post a picture of what your handmade prize when you get it!
Should be a fun and interesting little experiment and I am hoping that God will use it as a blessing too. :)Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-26131943896750418932009-01-12T12:48:00.000-08:002009-01-12T13:10:11.942-08:00I was tagged over email so here goes...Let's see what your music has to say about you...

Here are the rules:
1. This simple poem speaks volumes about personhood and the struggle to attain equality.

Corrie Ten Boom wrote a book entitled, "The Hiding Place" in which she talked about her days in a concentration camp. She was not Jewish; she was imprisoned and tortured for hiding Jews in her home because she believed they were equal human persons.

Rosa Parks sat down and refused to get up from a seat she was told she had no right to sit in. She decided that she was no longer going to be told that she was less human than anyone else on that bus.

Anne Frank wrote in her diary, "I don't think of all the misery but of the beauty that still remains" – this coming from a young woman having to live in a hidden apartment for two years because she was declared a non - human person.

Martin Luther King, Jr. cried out, "I have a dream." He believed in a world where men were not looked at as black or white, but as men. He believed we could live as equal human persons and destroy the prejudices that plagued mankind. What do all these people have in common? Some may say oppression. Oppression is certainly a word that can be used to describe all of their lives.

Can you imagine yourself as young girl like Anne Frank living in a small hidden apartment for two years, never allowed to leave for fear of certain death?

Some may say determination. Langston Hughes was determined to see a day when our African American brothers would not be seen as less than any other American.

Some may say courage. I can't imagine the courage it took for Corrie Ten Boom to risk her own life and freedom for total strangers. She endured years of torture and even found a way to thank God for her bunk being infested with fleas, knowing it saved her from abuse.

Some may say resolve. Oh, to see the resolve in the face of Rosa Parks on the bus that day! To see her claim her spot as an equal human person and refuse to be dehumanized.

Some may say passion. Passion is one of the best words you can use to describe Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. When you hear his speech you can't help but be moved. While all of these words are truly things these great humans had in common, there is one other thing that makes them stand out from others who have been dehumanized: their voice. They all had a voice and were able to use that voice to cry out for their lives, their freedom and their humanity. A voice is something that thousands of innocent people every day in America will never have.

Can you imagine if a child in the womb could write a poem about how one day he too would be called an American?
Can you imagine if babies that were not going to be killed by abortion could hide others that were scheduled for death?
Can you imagine if when the abortionist tried to kill a young little girl she was able to sit down in the womb with resolve and say, “I will not be killed”?
Can you imagine the speech a young child would give proclaiming the day all innocent pre-born children are counted as human?
While we know these things are impossible for the children in the womb to accomplish, they are not impossible for us. We do have a voice; we now need to find the courage, determination, resolve and passion to fight against the oppression of innocent children.

Some may say, "How dare you compare abortion with the holocaust or oppression of African Americans!" I say how dare we not. How dare we look back at some of the most brutal, inhumane and dehumanizing acts in history and not also include the killing of innocent babies? We are ushering in a new era in America this year. With the election of Barack Obama to the Presidency, we are seeing something many people believed would not happen in their lifetime. We are witnessing something that we should all be proud of regardless of our political views. America has taken one more step towards equality and wiping out racial prejudices.

So many people do not believe they will see the killing of innocent children stop in their lifetime either. So many people have accepted the abortion holocaust as status quo. I refuse to accept or believe that we cannot defeat this evil.
It is time, my friends, to adopt the words that describe these great humans I wrote about.
It is time to believe that we will usher in an era where pre-born children are considered full human persons.
It is time to use our voices to proclaim life and freedom for the thousands of our brothers and sisters who die needlessly every day.

It is time to say: They, Too, America.Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-70046551018852806112008-12-24T21:15:00.000-08:002008-12-24T21:25:59.368-08:00Have you seen that girl?Innocent, Confident, with a hint of curiosity.
And an heir of what you see is what you get
Fun to be around, laugh at herself
Never worried
Life is short but what's the hurry?
Bright eyed and ready to take on the world

Have you seen that girl?
That everybody says I used to be
Have you seen that girl?
Where along the way did I lose me?
Have you seen that girl?

She was full of life
Looked on the brighter side
If it was worth a chance she'd take it
Said that life is what you make it
But a few wrong moves lead to a few wrong turns,
And once you're burned you're not the same
You tend to shy from the flame
I hate to think she's given up her dream

Have you seen that girl?
That everybody says I used to be
Have you seen that girl?
Where along the way did I lose me?
Have you seen that girl?

Have you seen that girl?Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-70665716870374829872008-12-08T17:26:00.000-08:002008-12-08T21:15:52.594-08:00Jumping on the bandwagon...This is going around the blogs…kinda fun. Over the past several years Planned Parenthood has sold "Choice on Earth" Christmas cards and t-shirts each Christmas season. Not only are they raising money to kill babies, the card mocks the birth of Christ.
“Choice on Earth”, the name of the Planned Parenthood card, is a disgusting attempt to spread their message of death while exploiting the celebration of the birth of Christ.
Luke 2:11-14 - 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
The phrase “peace on earth” is based on this verse from Holy Scripture. Angels were proclaiming peace on earth and I am sure there was no thought of child killing being part of that peace.
What does the word “ choice ” mean in the context of Planned Parenthood's card? It means abortion; it is the choice to kill your baby through abortion. In essence, Planned Parenthood is celebrating Christmas by saying “abortion on earth”. It is ironic that in the day Christ was born, King Herod was having young babies murdered.
King Herod had every boy two years or under killed because of greed, pride, power, and control. These are also some of the same sins Planned Parenthood will instill in a young woman to get her to believe that she should kill her baby.
Planned Parenthood has become a modern day King Herod. They are more concerned with their own greed than the life of an innocent child.
Their greed and selfishness is more important than life itself. They make women feel like there is no other choice for their lives than abortion. They instill in them lies about how bad their lives will be if they give birth. They make them fear losing money, control over their own lives, opportunities, and happiness.
Just like King Herod, Planned Parenthood is more concerned about their own wealth, power and position in life than anything else and they want to pass that way of thinking onto young women and the world.
They are so dedicated to this evil way of thought they are willing to mock the birth of Christ and try to steal the true meaning of Christmas.
Christmas is a time of joy and peace as we ponder the birth of our Savior. It is a time to promote love and life not a time to promote death and hatred.
Planned Parenthood has attempted to steal the meaning of Christmas and distort it as they ignore the very reason we celebrate.Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-14825563523285798482008-12-02T19:50:00.000-08:002008-12-02T19:56:33.413-08:00CrawlHow long will this take?
How much can I go through?
My heart, my soul aches I don't know what to do I bend,
but don't break and somehow I'll get through Cause I have You

And if I had to crawl
Well you'd crawl too
I stumble and I fall
Carry me through
The wonder of it all
Is you see me through

Oh Lord, where are you?
Do not forget me here
I cry in silence
Can you not see my tears

When all have left me
And hope has disappeared
You'll find me here

When everything I was is lost
I have forgotten
Where you have not
When I am lost
You have not lost me

Oh Lord, where are you?
Do not forget me here
I cry in silence
Can you not see my tears

When everything I was is lost
I have forgotten
Where you have not
When I am lost
You have not lost me
You have not lost meMiss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-52202381056085734322008-12-02T14:22:00.001-08:002008-12-02T14:26:59.930-08:00nothing to write about...Since life has really sucked lately and it's not really looking up, I thought that I would post some of my favorite quotes from Disney movies. Get rid of the damn sticker! It's not 1997!The Clintons
Dear Mr. Ex President Clinton :

I recently saw a bumper sticker that said, "Thank me, I voted for Clinton-Gore."So, I sat down and reflected on that. I am sending my "Thank you" for what you have done, specifically:

1. Thank you for introducing us to Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones ,Monica Lewinsky , Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen Willey, and JuanitaBroderick .Did I leave anyone out?
2. Thank you for teaching my younger siblings and I about oral sex.
3. Thank you for showing us that sexual harassment in the work place(especially the White House) and on the job is OK.And all you have to know is what the meaning of "sex" is.It really is great to know that certain sexual acts are not sex, and oneperson may have sex while the other one does NOT have sex.
4. Thank you for reintroducing the concept of impeachment to a newgeneration and demonstrating that the ridiculous plot of the movie "Wag the Dog" could be plausible after all.
5. Thanks for making Jimmy Carter look competent, Gerald Ford look graceful, Richard Nixon look honest, Lyndon Johnson look truthful, and John Kennedy look moral.
6. Thank you for the 73 House and Senate witnesses who have pled the5th Amendment and 17 witnesses who have fled the country to avoid testifying about Democratic campaign fund raising
7. Thank you, for the 19 charges, 8 convictions, and 4 imprisonments from the Whitewater "mess" and the 55 criminal charges and 32 criminal convictions (so far) in the other "Clinton" scandals.
8. Thanks also for reducing our military by half, "gutting" much ofour foreign policy, and flying all over the world on "vacations"carefully disguised as necessary trips.
9. Thank you, also, for "finding" millions of dollars (I reallydidn't need it in the first place, and I can't think of a more deserving group of recipients for my hard-earned tax dollars) for all of your globe-trotting.I understand you, the family, and your cronies have logged in more time aboard Air Force One than any other administration.
10. Now that you've left the White House, thanks for the 140 pardonsof convicted felons and indicted felons-in-exile.We will love to have them rejoin society. (Not to mention the scoresyou pardoned while Governor of Arkansas)
11. Thanks also for removing the White House silverware.I'm sure that Laura Bush didn't like the pattern anyway. Also, enjoy the housewarming gifts you've received from your "friends."
12. Thanks to you and your staff in the West Wing of the White Housefor vandalizing and destroying government property on the way out.I also appreciate removing all of that excess weight (China ,silverware, linen, towels, ash trays, soap, pens, magnetic compass, flight manuals, etc.) out of Air Force 1.The weight savings means burning less fuel, thus less tax dollars spent on jet fuel. Thank you!
13. And finally, please ensure that Hillary enjoys the $8 million dollar advance for her "tell-all" book and you, Bill, the $10 million advance for your memoirs.Who says crime doesn't pay!
14. The last and most important point - thank you for forcing Israel to let Mohammed Atta go free. Terrorist pilot Mohammed Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986.The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners".However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammed Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center .This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports. Why shouldn't Americans know the real truth? What a guy!!

If you agree that the American public must be made aware of these facts, pass this on.God bless America and THANK YOU (once again) for spending my taxes so wisely and frugally.

SINCERELY,
A US Citizen

PS.Please pass along a special thank you to Al Gore for "inventing" the Internet, without which I would not be able to send this wonderful, factual e-mail.

AND THE REST OF THE STORY Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a New York State Senator, now comes under the"Congressional Retirement and StaffingPlan," which means that even if she never gets reelected, she STILL receives her Congressional salary until she dies.(Would it not be nice if all Americans were pension eligible after only4 years?)If Bill outlives her, he then inherits HER salary until HE dies.He is already getting his Presidential salary until he dies. If Hillary out lives Bill, she also gets HIS salary until she dies. Guess who pays for that? WE DO! It's common knowledge that in order for her to establish NY residency, they purchased a million dollar-plus house in upscale Chappaqua , NewYork. Makes sense. They are entitled to Secret Service protection for life. Still makes sense. Here is where it becomes interesting. Their mortgage payments hover at around $10,000 per month. BUT, an extra residence HAD to be built within the acreage to house the Secret Service agents. The Clintons charge the Federal government $10,000 monthly rent for theuse of that extra residence, which is just about equal to their mortgage payment. This means that we, the taxpayers, are paying the Clinton 's salary, mortgage, transportation, safety and security, as well as the salariesfor their 12 man staff -- and, this is all perfectly legal!Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-54112953892464444472008-11-13T17:12:00.001-08:002008-11-13T17:16:09.221-08:00Who I am...I've been around for 23 years and I probably only know 1% of who I am. I think people aren't telling the truth when they claim to know all about themselves. How can they, unless they base their identity on their career, or interests, or check book. I don't think I'll fully understand who I am until I understand more completely The One who thought of me in the first place. I catch small glimpses of myself... when I sing or write I see passion and expression, when I converse with others I recognize my need for relationship and the desire to be known and loved. Would it be safe to say that who we really are is found outside of our 5 senses (but not excluding them)? That thought brings me comfort because when I roll out of bed and go to the job that's unfulfilling, or when I turn on the TV and see a celebrity that appears to have ''made it'', I come to the conclusion that none of us have arrived yet. Some of us are just better at forgetting that we're lost. I also see that we all want to imitate something greater than ourselves... or someONE greater. It's all around us. We live in a schizophrenic society, where people try to fit in everywhere with everyone, being everything to every person and losing who they really are in the process. I don't blame anyone for it. I find myself doing the same thing. So is there an answer to this way of living? I once heard somebody talk about choosing Life moment by moment. Do we really choose Life as though it were an option? Or do we wake up to each day and look at it as though it were this big uncontrollable machine? I believe Life is an option. and it's in accepting that, that we will find our true identity. I choose Life abundantly and I know one day we will come face to face. and at last, I will really know who I am, alongside yourself. Hopefully mine will get better.Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-20640683942485121612008-11-06T15:13:00.001-08:002008-11-06T15:14:32.569-08:00Welcome to the Unites Socialist States of America...I think it goes without saying that I am both shocked and disgusted by the outcome of Tuesday's Presidential election. I know by reading comments and talking with others that I am not alone in this. It is a sad commentary on the people of this country that so many could mistake articulate for intelligent and ready to lead. It is sad that so many could be swayed by hollow promises. An intense hatred by the left wing of President Bush led to the defeat of John McCain. How pathetic so many people could not look at the facts and vote for the man based on those facts, rather than what they felt to be the failures of his predecessor. The downward spiral toward socialism in this country has begun. For those of you who voted for McCain/Palin, you can take pride knowing you did the right thing. For those of you who didn't: enjoy the next four years of "CHANGE" because after Barack Obama and his congressional liberal buddies get done raping your paychecks to pay for their proposed trillions in new spending, that is all you'll have left.Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-56217390572156351732008-11-05T11:44:00.000-08:002008-11-05T11:45:16.669-08:00I will stand strong! Many of you know that I am strongly against abortion of any kinds, and I want to do whatever I can to fight it. Last night was probably emotionally draining for many people as they saw one of the most rabidly pro-abortion candidates ever get elected as the next president of the United States. Some are even saying that the pro-life movement was set back at least 30 years last night. Last night I watched the acceptance speech of Barrack Obama. I watched as Jesse Jackson and Oprah Winfrey were trying to hold back the tears of joy and hope. I listened to interviews with pastors and civil rights leaders and my heart broke as they talked about Obama like he was the Messiah. I understand that this is a monumental event in the history of our nation. I also understand that our hope lies in no man.

As the results came in last night, the political landscape of this country was changed. Men and women will be either taking new positions of power or stepping down from positions they once held. Laws and policies will change, and we will have to adjust to this new direction our world in heading into. One thing, however, did not change last night. One position of power was not affected in the least bit. While we will have a new President in the White House, the Throne of God remains sovereign. Our one and only true Hope is still our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Two things I heard last night were “change is coming” and “yes we can”. Change is coming, and I am not going to cower or back down in the face of this change. Change is coming, and the battle for the sanctity of human life will be tougher; my resolve to win this battle is stronger.

If change is what they want, then we shall give them change. We will destroy and deny the apathetic spirit that has had a hold on this generation for too long. We need to raise our voices louder than ever before until we see the end of this abortion holocaust. We will share the only true Hope for this world without shame or fear. We will not chant “yes we can” but rather “yes we will”. We will believe what God promises us in Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me”. I have often said I do not know why God has put this so strongly on my heart, but I am humbled and honored to be able to serve God in this manner. I know that I have a responsibility to stand up in the darkest times and trust in the Light of Christ to lead us to victory. I stand before you today and pledge to you that I will not be defeated by this election. I refuse to allow any earthly setbacks discourage or slow me down in this fight for life. I promise you that I will never lie down or quit; I will stand true until my last breath. My hope is that all Christians will continually stand firm against this, and pray for our country and new leader, because this will be some of the toughest 4 years of most of our lives!Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-51604924912479735422008-10-21T15:25:00.000-07:002008-10-21T15:30:47.186-07:00My Buried Life

Do you ever feel like your life is a dream? But sometimes, a lot of the time, I feel that way. I feel like my dreams are sometimes more real than my real life. I feel like the life I have is not who I really am. What I do and say is governed by everything around me. I don't feel free to be myself. There are things I have a great desire to express, but I don't say them because I'm not at liberty to, or because I don't want to hurt someone, or because I'm afraid of what people think. Every decision I make seems to be out of my control, because I base them on the opinions and counsel of others. I feel like I don't belong here. I feel like my life is only a dream. Like there's a hidden reality somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Like I'm in a strange dream and I can't wake up. And now I'm starting to sound like a freak. I don't feel like I'm making any sense...... This poem came to mind:

Light flows our war of mocking words, and yet,Behold, with tears mine eyes are wet!I feel a nameless sadness o'er me roll.Yes, yes, we know that we can jest,We know, we know that we can smile! But there's a something in this breast,To which thy light words bring no rest,And thy gay smiles no anodyne.Give me thy hand, and hush awhile,And turn those limpid eyes on mine,And let me read there, love! thy inmost soul.
Alas! is even love too weak. To unlock the heart, and let it speak? Are even lovers powerless to reveal. To one another what indeed they feel?I knew the mass of men conceal'd. Their thoughts, for fear that if reveal'd. They would by other men be met. With blank indifference, or with blame reproved;I knew they lived and moved. Trick'd in disguises, alien to the rest Of men, and alien to themselves--and yet The same heart beats in every human breast!
But we, my love!--doth a like spell benumb Our hearts, our voices?--must we too be dumb?
Ah! well for us, if even we,Even for a moment, can get free Our heart, and have our lips unchained; For that which seals them hath been deep-ordained!
Fate, which foresaw How frivolous a baby man would be--By what distractions he would be possessed,How he would pour himself in every strife,And well-nigh change his own identity--That it might keep from his capricious play His genuine self, and force him to obey Even in his own despite his being's law,Bade through the deep recesses of our breast The unregarded river of our life Pursue with indiscernible flow its way;And that we should not see the buried stream, and seem to be Eddying at large in blind uncertainty,Though driving on with it eternally.
But often, in the world's most crowded streets,But often, in the din of strife,There rises an unspeakable desire After the knowledge of our buried life;A thirst to spend our fire and restless force In tracking out our true, original course;A longing to inquire Into the mystery of this heart which beats So wild, so deep in us--to know Whence our lives come and where they go.And many a man in his own breast then delves,But deep enough, alas! none ever mines. And we have been on many thousand lines,And we have shown, on each, spirit and power; But hardly have we, for one little hour,Been on our own line, have we been ourselves--Hardly had skill to utter one of all The nameless feelings that course through our breast,But they course on for ever unexpressed. And long we try in vain to speak and act Our hidden self, and what we say and Do is eloquent, is well--but 'tis not true! And then we will no more be racked with inward striving, and demand Of all the thousand nothings of the hour Their stupefying power;Ah yes, and they benumb us at our call!Yet still, from time to time, vague and forlorn,From the soul's subterranean depth upborne As from an infinitely distant land,Come airs, and floating echoes, and convey A melancholy into all our day.
Only--but this is rare--When a beloved hand is laid in ours,When, jaded with the rush and glare Of the interminable hours,Our eyes can in another's eyes read clear,When our world-deafened ear Is by the tones of a loved voice caressed--A bolt is shot back somewhere in our breast,And a lost pulse of feeling stirs again. The eye sinks inward, and the heart lies plain,And what we mean, we say, and what we would, we know.A man becomes aware of his life's flow,And hears its winding murmur; and he sees The meadows where it glides, the sun, the breeze.
And there arrives a lull in the hot race Wherein he doth for ever chase That flying and elusive shadow, rest.An air of coolness plays upon his face,And an unwonted calm pervades his breast. And then he thinks he knows The hills where his life rose,And the sea where it goes.
~ Matthew Arnold ~
Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-86855874211225120802008-10-18T17:57:00.000-07:002008-10-18T17:58:10.728-07:00Hmmm...Now isn't this something to think about!
If Barack Obama would apply for a job with the FBI or with the Secret Service, he would be disqualified because of his past association with William Ayers, a known terrorist & many other questionables.
If he is elected President he would not qualify to be his own body guard!
(And the majority of the people don't seem to care)Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-86947367324886618632008-10-16T10:59:00.000-07:002008-10-16T11:06:19.792-07:00Romanticizing Obama I think I have finally come to understand the reason Barack Obama appeals to many of his devoted followers despite his lack of accomplishment. The world of romance, not politics, must be our guide.

Reading the most recent polls, I've been rather bewildered by the enthusiasm American voters have for a Barack Obama presidency. There's so much about him that seems antithetical to holding the preeminent job in America.

It's true that the media has built a pretty tight firewall around him, insulating Americans from the less savory information in his past. Few outside of political junkies know about the depths and breadth of his Rezko association; the $100 million dollars he and Bill Ayers frivoled away propping up radical Chicago groups, rather than Chicago schools; his surprisingly close relationship with that same Bill Ayers, the one who was behind the Pentagon bombing; his mentorship from Communist and pedophile, Frank Marshall Davis; his numerous and overlapping links to organizations committed to America's demise; or the fact that his term in the Illinois Senate saw a profound degradation in the standard of living that his constituents enjoyed.

Still, even with that media padding, and rapturous leg quivering, the media has had to concede a few things about Obama. Voters know that he spent 20 years attending weekly sermons from a man who loathes America; they know that he spent a significant chunk of his career as a community organizer, a "profession" most Americans would find impossible either to define or to justify; they know that he was a law professor who never managed to publish anything; they know that he didn't sponsor any significant legislation during his tenure in the Illinois Senate; they know that he didn't sponsor any significant legislation during his tenure in the United States Senate; and they know that he's spent virtually all of his undistinguished time in the United States Senate campaigning to become president. In other words, no matter how the media tries to protect Obama from his own past, the facts that have leaked out reveal a man of little experience and no accomplishments.

In my world, accomplishments matter. If I'm giving someone the highest executive office in the land, I'd kind of like that person to have a positive track record. That's why I liked Romney. Everything he touched turned to gold, not just gold lining his own pockets, but gold for everyone else connected to the project. That's also why I like McCain. He may not be a Romney-esque money machine, but he has a record of accomplishment. Whether or not one likes what he ended up doing, he at least got things done. Not so Obama. Even the least informed Americans must know that he's done nothing in his career but talk.

Faced with what appears to me to be a conundrum -- why the majority of voting Americans would prefer for president a man whose resume is a big fat zero - I asked a friend for his opinion. He said (and I think he's right), that most people don't care about Obama's past record of accomplishments. Instead, he says, they simply like what they hear. He's promising them a lot of things -- such as a crystalline, pre-industrial environment, without any economic downsides; peace and harmony with the baddest of bad guys; universal health care; and wealth for all -- and they believe those promises, despite the fact that Obama's ineffective resume shouldn't give them reason to believe that he can follow through on any of his promises.

And just like that, I suddenly got it. I got why Americans are flocking to Obama: They are precisely like the woman who wants to marry a romantic bad boy.

Sure, he's been running around on her, and he can get pretty verbally abusive. Still he always tells her he loves her and he promises her that things will get better. With those promises echoing in her head, she's absolutely certain that, if she can just get him to the altar, he'll improve. The act of marriage will magically transform him from an abusive boyfriend who makes pretty speeches into the man of her dreams -- one who is precisely as good as he promises to be. The fact that her friends keep pointing out his myriad failings and that they remind her that the leopard can't change his spots is irrelevant. He says he loves her and if, she can just force that marriage, he'll suddenly realize that he has to change.I bet all of you, man and woman, have seen this scenario play out in the life of at least one woman you know. (And yes, that's sexist, but I don't know any men who go through this bizarre "she treats me horribly now, but she'll magically improve later" game.) And I ask you, those of you who have seen this or lived this: Does the man ever change, either because of the ceremony or because the woman wants him to?

I've never seen it happen. I have seen some men change, but that's come from within, and usually goes along with hitting rock bottom and then finding God. The wedding ring had nothing to do with it.

Right now, voters are thrilling to the feeling of dating the political bad boy, the cool guy who talks a good line, but who has a trail of personal and professional failures in his wake (and some pretty unsavory friends too). Everybody wants to date the bad boy once and a while. But the thing is, you don't marry the bad boy. Just as marriage to the bad boy won't magically make him better, a presidential inauguration won't transform the anti-American, unaccomplished Barack Obama into an effective statesman imbued with a true love for his country.

So, if you voters think there is more to this Barack Obama than just pretty words, I suggest that you do with him exactly what I'd suggest if you were a young woman infatuated with the bad boy: Wait a while (four years? eight years? twelve years?) and see whether, with time, he either grows up and grows out of it, or if he follows that downward trajectory, validating your decision to reject him in the first place.
Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-90536477778699843042008-10-15T12:09:00.000-07:002008-10-15T12:17:59.764-07:00This is me not doing homework! My mind wandered a bit while I was doing homework, hence the things I thought were
questionable...

When people say, "I'm so tired it's not even funny" or "my head hurts so much it's not even funny", why would it even be funny in the first place?
Do stairs go up or down?
Do coffins have lifetime guarantees?
Why do the numbers on phones go down while the numbers on calculators go up?
Why is there a top line on lined paper if we never use it?
When French people swear do they say pardon my English?
If the sky is the limit, then what is space, over the limit?
Why does the last piece of ice always stick to the bottom of the cup?
Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink what comes out"?
Isn't Disney World just a people trap operated by a mouse?
Who was the first person to say, "See that chicken over there ... I yell, throw things, cuss, stomp my feet, and get downright pissed off. Some of my friends have already practically banned talk of politics while I am at their house, because I get so fired up. Politics is one of my passions, and while I know most of you will disagree, I feel as though it's borderline unpatriotic NOT to take an active interest.Rather than list all of the reasons I despise Barack Obama and all of the reasons he and his party scare the hell out of me, I will spare you another one of my anti-liberal rants, and explain a few reasons exactly WHY I am a Republican.

We as Americans are being taxed to death in this country, and personally, I would kind of like to keep more of the money I earn. At the risk of sounding like a heartless bitch, I do not want my money going to welfare programs of any kind. Yes, I am fully aware that there are people less fortunate than me, but I am a firm believer that there is always room to succeed in this country. Ihave just started a new job after not working for 3 months, but do you see me asking for any sort of handout? No. I am milking my savings, and have made DRASTIC lifestyle changes. I no longer shop every weekend, or go out all of the time. This is not something I enjoy, but I am doing it. The part that disgusts me is that there are so many people out there who chose to go on welfare rather than suck it up and get a job at McDonald's. You do what you have to do to get by, and if you don't want to bother doing that, than I don't want to have any part in supporting your ass. Also pertaining to money, social security is a disaster. We are the ones who pay into it and we should have a say as to what we do with it or where that money goes.

I believe life begins at the moment of conception. Sorry if this offends anyone, but I do. I am adamantly opposed to abortion, and I do not want any of my tax dollars going to organizations like Planned Parenthood or any other organization that performs, advocates or condones abortion. I want to be assured that the candidate I chose to vote for in the Presidential election will only appoint Supreme Court justices that will push to overturn Roe v. Wade. Bare in mind, I do not judge anyone who has chosen to terminate a pregnancy, I just do not agree with it.

Global warming is not a big issue for me. That's not to say I don't think it might exist, I just agree that it is inevitable, and we do not need to go over the top trying to stop it. I do not think it should be a political issue, and the government does not need to be involved in it. The way I see it, the whole "go green" movement is a fad. Much like the pogo balls and slap bracelets we just had to have when we were kids, it will eventually pass, and something else will be the cool thing to do.

Capital punishment isn't inhumane. I believe if you intentionally and maliciously take a life, you deserve the chair, lethal injection, firing squad, hanging, or whatever method of capital punishment your state chooses. The only disagreement I have with the death penalty is that we do not use it enough. I think it should be extended beyond first degree murder to include serious crimes committed against children as well.

I also believe that the Second Amendment needs to be protected by our federal government. While I do agree with background checks being required to purchase firearms, I also am a firm believer in conceal and carry laws. Furthermore, as an unmarried female who generally lives alone, I would like to have protection should someone break into my home intending to do me harm. The last thing I want is stricter gun control laws that may prevent such a thing. Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

Gay marriage is another issue. I am not going to judge those who are gay or agree with it, I truly believe that marriage was intended to be between a man and a woman. In fact, I truly feel that the federal government needs to be less involved in the lives of its citizens. We need to be more independent and self-efficient rather than depending on the government to help us out or bail us out anytime we have the slightest problem.

Now for the shocker: I am not an old, white-haired, rich man with a trophy wife and more money than I know what to do with. Nor am I a bible thumping, gun-toting, homophobic, redneck racist, as stereotypes of Republicans would lead you to believe. It isn't fair to assume that's what makes a Republican, although I know many people buy into the whole stereotype. I like many of my fellow Republican friends and a female in my mid 20's, not rich, redneck, or racist, although I am a Bible believer. I chose the party I did because they are more in sync with my beliefs, both moral and ethical. It astounds me that so many people align themselves with the left based on their stereotypes of the right. I encourage anyone who reads this to please, ignore the stereotyping and preconceived notions of left and right, and chose the one that's right for you.Miss Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01466058700257552646noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2432359475907656190.post-74285524288142367872008-10-09T22:10:00.000-07:002008-10-09T22:11:43.984-07:00New Blog!Hey everyone!
